St Cormacs 0 v Wexford Celtic 3

St Cormacs v Wexford Celtic kicked off at 11:00 o clock on the 6th Febuary in Boulavogue.  This was a terrible morning for a game of football but it all went ahead.  Wex Celtic started off with an advantage with the wind in the first half.  Celtic took the lead mid way through the first half through Steven Redmond.  Redmond striked again near the end of the first half with an excellent finish. Wex Celtic went in 2-0 at half time.

The second half started and Celtic were under pressure straight away with this strong wind.  Celtic back four were defending excellent and Cormacs could not break them down.  With Cormacs putting the pressure on Celtic had some good chances to finish the game off and thats what happened when Philip Cullen was 1 on 1 with the keeper and finished the game off he did with an excellent finish. The game finished 3-0 to Wexford Celtic.

Wexford Celtic 4 v St Cormacs 1

Wexford Celtic v St Cormacs kicked off at 12:00 on 30th of Jan in Sinnotstown Lane.  This game started off with a goal in the first 5 min with a great finish from Thomas Kelly.  Wex Celtic were cruising after this goal but could not get the second to finish the game off.  The score was 1-0 to Wex Celtic at half time.

The second half started off the same as the first half with St Cormacs getting a goal and levelling it up.  Celtic went ahead again through Philiph cullen with an excellent finish.  Celtic kept the pressure up and got another goal through Peter Murphy.  Cullen got a second in the last few min through a penalty.  The game finished 4-1

All Blacks 2 v Wexford Celtic 1

All Blacks v Wexford Celtic Kicked off at 11:30 on the 9th of January in Mayglass.  This game started of at a very high tempo with two teams all out for attack.  All Blacks took the lead near the end of the first half with an excellent finish from the All Blacks Centre forward.  The score was 1-0 to All Blacks at half time.

The second half started off the same as the first half but Wex Celtic got the equaliser through an excellent finish from Patsy Malone.  Wex Celtic got caught on the counter attack through a long ball and some bad defending from wexford celtic. All Blacks went 2-1 up.  Celtic through everything at the game in the last 10 min but could not get the break through.  The game finished up 2-1 to All Blacks.

Rosslare Rangers 3 v Wexford Celtic 1

Rosslare rangers v Wexford celtic kicked off at 11:30 on the 2nd January in Rosslare.  With a few weeks break due to the snow this was going to be a hard game away to Rosslare.  The two teams started off slow but Celtic had the better of the first half with a few chances but went in at half time 0-0.

The second half started off good for Wex Celtic they took the lead in the first 5mins through David Dunbar.  Rosslare started to put the pressure on straight after the goal and with the advantage of the wind they got there equaliser. Then midway through the second half Rosslare went 2-1 up through some bad defending from a free kick from Wex Celtic.  It only got worse near the end of the second half when Rosslare got a penalty to go 3-1 up.  The game finished 3-1

Ajax 0 v Wexford Celtic 3

Ajax v Wexford Celtic kicked off at 11 o clock on the 20th of Nov last sunday morning in Enniscorthy.  This was going to be a physical game for Wex Celtic with Ajax picking up some points and getting some crucial players back.  The game started off slow with some good defending from both teams.  Celtic started to come more into the game with excellent work rate from David Dunbar and Boo Hore.  The break through came midway through the first half from John Sheil.  Wex Celtic pushed on from there and made it 2-0 with Conor Meyler getting on the score sheet as well.  Ajax had very few chances but when they did Martin Doran was excellent in the Celtic Goal.  Wex Celtic went in 2-0 at half time.

Ajax came out stronger in the second half with nothing to lose but celtic stud up well and defending excellent through Tim Mc Grath.  Johnny Mc Manus came off injured and was replaced by Barry Mc Grath.  Boo Hore came off for Peter Murphy and Willy Lambert came off for Jerry Dunbar and this became crucial with Jerry Dunbar scoring the third goal and killing the game off.  The game finished 3-0 to Wex Celtic which was an excellent performance from the away team.

Wexford Celtic 2 v All Blacks 0

Wexford Celtic v All Blacks kicked off at 11 o clock on the 14th of November last sunday morning in Sinnotstown Lane.  This was two teams pushing to get out of the bottom half of the table.  Wex Celtic started off well and went in 1-0 up at half time through a Philiph Cullen goal which came fom some excellent football which started from the defence and finished from Cullen.

The second half started off slow with some changes made from Celtic with Willy Lambert coming on for Cullen and David Dunbar coming on for Hore and Jer Dunbar coming on for Meyler.  Wex Celtic extended there lead through Donal o Conor and had a few more chances to go further a head.  The game finished 2-0 to Wexford Celtic which pushes them up the table.

Wexford Celtic 2 v Bridge Rovers 1

Wexford Celtic v Bridge Rovers Kicked off at 11 o clock on the 6th of november last sunday morning in Sinnotstown Lane.  This was a top of the table side against the bottom and it showed starting off.  Bridge rovers started off very well passing the ball well and playing with a high tempo.  Wex Celtic started slow and were playing in 2nd gear but got a break through in the middle of the first half when philiph cullen slotted away a penalty.  The score was 1-0 at half time.

The second half started well for Wex Celtic they came out flying and start asking questions of Bridge Rovers.  Wex Celtic could of went up 2 or 3-0 in the second half only for some good saves from the Bridge Rovers goal keeper.  Wex Celtic got their break through with around 2 min left from Philiph Cullen again with a cheeky finish to finish the game off. Bridge Rovers got a goal in the last min but was to late for a come back.  The game finished 2-1.

Wexford Celtic 2 v Ajax 2 

 

Wexford celtic v Ajax kicked off at 11 o clock on the 23rd Oct last sunday morning in Sinnotstown Lane.  This game started off scrapy as the say with two teams testing each other out.  Wex Celtic started the better and got the opening goal from Philip Cullen with an excellent finish.  Ajax  came more into it in the second half but could not break down the Celtic defence.  Celtic went in 1-0 up at half time. 

The second half started off the same as the first half Celtic never really started off since they went 1-0 up early in the first half.  Ajax were coming in to the game even more and got there equaliser midway through the second half.  Then disaster happened for Celtic when Ajax went 2-1 up with 10min to go.  Celtic then start pushing for the equaliser and got it with a few min left through a Philip Cullen penalty.  The final score was 2-2
    

Wexford Celtic 2 v New Ross Town 2 

 

Wexford celtic v New Ross Town kicked off at 11 o clock on the 17th Oct last sunday morning in Sinnotstown Lane.  This was going to be a hard test for Wexford Celtic with Ross Town having an excellent start to the season.  It started off very good for the away team when they opened the scoring early in the game.  Celtic came more into the game in the middle of the first half and got the equaliser through David Dunbar. This put the away team under pressure and Celtic piled the pressure on and went ahead with an excellent free kick from Tim Mc Grath.  Wexford Celtic went in 2-1 up at half time.

The second half started off  very good with the two teams playing very good football.  Ross Town started to pick up the tempo of the game and got a penalty midway through the second half  which they put away to make it 2-2.  The two teams were pushing for the winner when the away team got a penalty in the last second which they missed.  The final score was 2-2
    

Wexford Celtic 3 v St Leonards 1 

 

Wexford celtic v St Leonards kicked off at 11 o clock on the 03th Oct last sunday morning in Sinnotstown Lane.  It was a beautiful morning for a game of soccer and the game didnt let us down.  Wex celtic started off very good with some high tempo football and some good football in midfield and the defence looking strong for the first time this season with manager Tim Mc Grath back in defence.  Celtic went in 2-0 up at half time with goals from Willy Lambert and Stephen Moran.

The second half started off slow with the two teams standing off each other but leonards went on top early in the second half.  Wex Celtic got a penalty which Conor Meyler Missed.  Leonards pulled one back with around 15 min left but Celtic killed the game off with around 6 min left when Sean Byrne came the bench to score.  The game finished 3-1 to Wexford Celtic

Wexford Celtic 1 v Rosslare Rangers 3 

 

Wexford celtic v Rosslare Rangers kicked off at 11 o clock on the 18th Sep last sunday morning in Sinnotstown Lane.  This was a bad day for Wex Celtic.  Celtic went in 0-2 down again at half time with some bad defending and an own goal from Barry Mc Grath only for them mistakes the game was even enough.

The second half started off good for Wex celtic with a goal from Diarmuid Cullen with an excellent finish in the first 5 minutes of the second half. Celtic kept on pushing for the 2nd but couldnt break down the Rosslare defence and while celtic were pushing Rosslare got the 3rd and went 3-1 up and killed off the game with around 10min to go.  The game finished 1-3 to Rosslare Rangers

Gorey Rangers 2 v Wexford Celtic 1 

 

Gorey Rangers v Wexford celtic kicked off at 11 o clock on the 12th Sep last sunday morning in Gorey.  This was a game of 2 halfs as they say with gorey on top in the first half and Wexford Celtic in the 2nd half. Gorey were 2-0 up going in at half time with 2 mistakes from Wexford Celtic but celtic came out flying in the 2nd half and pulled 1 back from a penalty and couldnt get a 2nd goal with around 6 good chances in the second half.  The game finished up 2-1 to Gorey but Wexford Celtic must feel robbed coming away from Gorey.

Wexford Celtic 1 v Curracloe 1 


Wexford celtic v Curracloe kicked off at 11 o clock on the 6th Sep last sunday morning in Sinnotstown lane. The game started off at a very high tempo. Celtic could not live with curracloe in midfield for the first 15 min with the two up front looking dangerous for Curracloe as well.  There was  few chances for curracloe with two free kicks outside the box which never made the celtic goalkeeper work.  Celtic started to come in to the game a little bit more with Gerry Dunbar and Alan Keane defending very well and great work rate up front from David Dunbar and Sean Byrne playing off him.  While the game was even enough curracloe got a corner with around 10 min left in the first half and took full advantage of bad marking from celtic and scored with a tap in on the line so Curracloe went in 0-1 up at half time.

Wexford Celtic made a few changes at half time Boo Hore came on at half time to replace Stephen Moran and Simon Hussey came on for Gerry Dunbar.  The second half started off very good for celtic they were putting pressure on the ball and passing the ball around better with Johnny Mc Manus going into centre midfield.It looked like a very good change with Boo hore winning every tackle celtic going on top with a lot of pressure.  Wexford Celtic got the break through 15 min into the second half with a great cross from Alan Keane to Johnny Mc Manus who finished with an excellent header.  Celtic were now on top and pushing for the second with chances from David Dunbar and Simon Husey.  While celtic were pushing curracloe had chances to win the game as well. The game finished  1-1 with two teams dissapointed not to get the win.
